Diane Sutphin Obituary

Diane Kay Sutphin, 81, of Walford, passed away, Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at The Gardens of Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4-7 PM, Monday, February 12, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website under the obituary for Diane Sutphin, under the video tab starting at 11:00 AM, February 13, 2024. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Diane was born on July 17, 1942, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Glenn Charles and Josephine Bessie (Udorvich) Schaumburg. She graduated from Newton High School. Diane was united in marriage to Richard Charles Sutphin on June 27, 1964, in Newton, Iowa. She had worked in the city circulation department at the Cedar Rapids Gazette and as a paraprofessional at the College Community and Norway Schools. Diane was a member of New Disciples Church. She was huge fan of Iowa Hawkeye Wrestling and enjoyed traveling. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Richard of Walford, daughters Christine (Richard) Livingston of Rathdrum, ID, and Denise Bennett of Clearbrook, MN, grandchildren Brandon Arp, Amanda Morse, Caden Bennett, and Kennedy Bennett, five great-grandchildren, and her brother Michael (Emily) Schaumburg of Waukee. Preceding her in death were her parents. Memorials may be directed to the Parkinson's Association. Online condolences are welcome at www.cedarmemorial.com under obituaries.
