Henry G Crellin, Jr.

Salt Lake City, UT-Beloved husband and father, Henry G. Crellin, Jr., son of Henry and Sarah, was born February 13th, 1944, in Water Valley, Mississippi. He grew up in Monterey, CA. He was a graduate of Monterey Peninsula College, BYU, and Cambridge University, England, receiving degrees in Sociology and Anthropology. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He married Ella Rae Stalker in the Manti Temple in 1968, and they were married for 56 years. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers John and William (Willie). He is survived by daughter Amber (Chad), and sons Corrin and Christiaan.

He was a member of the American Legion assisting with Veteran funerals. He was an avid cross-country skier and was a member of the Solder Hollow ski-patrol for 13 years. He was a member of the Utah Archaeological Society.

Dad was an avid reader and known for his intellectual curiosity. He had a great sense of humor laced with wit and puns. With his background in anthropology, he had an understanding of other peoples and cultures. He had an impeccable memory and recall ability over an incredible range of subjects. He hiked and walked and was an amateur runner and cyclist. He enjoyed races with his daughter and camping with his two sons. Dad was the kind of person that thought the Grand Gallery in Horseshoe Canyon was as spectacular as St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, having been to both.

In his final act of giving, Dad elected to be a donor in the University of Utah medical school body donor program. In his memory, his family encourages becoming an organ or body donor. He will be remembered in a private ceremony. Dad, we love and miss you!
