Catherine Petkevis Obituary

Petkevis, Catherine, - 90, of Galloway Township, Catherine was a young woman from Philadelphia when she and her husband Edward moved to Galloway in 1959 where they started a family and a small farm called Hodge Podge Farm which became the center point of her life until the 1980's. Catherine had five children, Alice, Edward, Carol, Loretta, and Raymond. After her children were grown and the farm was an empty nest, Catherine went to work for Atlantic County in social services where she worked for 27 years until she retired when she was 72. Catherine was an avid gardener who loved flowers. Her annual tulip bloom of thousands of bulbs was something she looked forward to every Spring. Anyone who spent any time at the Farm with Catherine is sure to tell you about a place where everyone was welcome, good food, and Catherine's unique ability to tell you the way it was and to watch out for the flowers. Her legacy will live on through her four surviving children, eight Grandchildren and six Great Grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday November 11th, 2023 at 1 p.m. at St. Nicholas Church, 525 St. Louis Ave Egg Harbor City followed by "Good Food" and a gathering of family and friends back at the farm. For directions and condolences please visit, Wimbergfuneralhome.com
