Desa-Rae Marie Hodge, age 67 of Hobart passed away December 31, 2024, at St. Mary Medical Center. She was born on November 16, 1957, to the late Robert and Joan Pifferitti. She was currently employed as a cook and kitchen manager at Wyndmoor of Portage Assisted Living Facility. Fiercely independent, Desa-Rae truly loved her job and dedicated her life to taking care of her daughters when they were young. The past year brought her so much joy, spending time with her family and riding motorcycles with Bill among other things. She will always be remembered for being a loving mom, nana, and friend.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Amanda Hodge, Jennifer Hill; the love of her life and her best friend, Bill Hodge; his children whom she loved, Monica (Zac) Patillo, Scott (Marinett) Hodge, Sarah (Tristan) Swider; grandchildren, Zachary Brown, Alivia Hill, Gabrielle Brown, Brooklynn Hill, and Camdyn Hill; brother, Robert Pifferitti, Jr.; and many loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Joan Pifferitti; and sister, Pam Giles.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her coworkers and all of the residents at Wyndmoor of Portage for the love they have always shown Desa-Rae. She truly felt like they were family.

A celebration of Desa-Rae's life will take place Monday, January 6, 2025, from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm at Wyndmoor of Portage, 3444 Swanson Road, Portage, IN 46368.
