Beloved husband of Dale Ann Schneider for 58 years. Dear father of Kimberly (Mark) Anderson, Wendy (Dan) Fecko, Amy (John) Groskopf, Wally (Kerry) Thome, and Ronda Hatke. Adored grandfather to Christopher, Ryan, Meghan, Kathryn, Michael, Jack, Matthew, Sydney, Jacob, and Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Walter Thome.
Wayne grew up in Oak Brook Terrace, IL and attended York High School class of 58. He went on to work for the family business, Hi Lo liquors in Glen Ellyn IL. Later he worked as a Dispatcher for a Bus company.
Wayne enjoyed working on cars and was very proud of his 1964 Corvair. He also loved taking his family on camping trips. The family especially enjoyed spending time with him in the Smoky Mountains and many other destinations around the country.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org, would be appreciated.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on February 18, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Overman Jones Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 15219 Joliet Rd, Plainfield, IL 60544. For more information please call (815) 436-9221.
