John Burge Obituary

A graveside service for John Mitchell Burge will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Oak Forest Cemetery with Reverend Oscar Joiner officiating under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service.

John was born December 27, 1965, in Leesville, Louisiana and passed away March 19, 2026, in Belton, Texas at the age of 60. He worked in the car business since 1984 when he began selling cars. His natural ability to make conversation and connect with people made him an excellent salesman, and he quickly moved up. John and his best friend Michael traveled throughout the country visiting car dealerships and using their talents to help struggling businesses. For the last few years, he worked as an auctioneer at car auctions. John was a kind-hearted son, brother, and uncle who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

John was preceded in death by his father, Laredo Wayne Burge; brother, Wayne Emmanuel "Bubba" Burge; sister, Cynthia Jane Burge; and grandparents, Josephine Burge, Kathleen Brister, and J.B. Brister.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Charity Rose Burge of Leesville, LA;

brother, Jody Burge of Leesville, LA;

nieces and nephews, Wayne E. Burge, Casey Beau Barge, Ethan Parker Burge, and Kylie Cheyenne Burge;

great-nephew and nieces, Elijah Burge, Hailey Welch, and Cerphine "Cece" Burge;

special friends, Michael Schenks, Jesse & Benita Gonzalez, and Jim Shapkoff;

and numerous extended family members and friends.
