Jewel Nash Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Homes Georgetown on Mar. 27, 2026.
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Jewel Normarene Nash, born on August 22, 1927, in Butler County, Kentucky. Jewel was a great soul, a radiant beacon of love and warmth, leaving an indelible imprint on the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Jewel, a devoted homemaker, was the embodiment of unconditional love and wisdom, consistently putting the needs of her family before her own. She lived her life with grace and dignity, always demonstrating the power of kindness and compassion. Jewel's home was a haven that overflowed with love, and laughter. Her children Kay White (Dannie), of New Albany, Roger Nash (Beverly), of Georgetown, IN. and son-in-law Linden McLellan, of Prospect, Kentucky, along with her grandchildren, Julie Turner, Leigh Dilling, Andy Nash, Nick White, Pam Newman, Jeff McLellan, and Wendy Newell, will forever hold dear memories of her nurturing spirit and her unwavering dedication to them. Jewel was also survived by 15 Great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren of whom she was very proud.

Jewel was predeceased by her parents, Hobert and Ada Imogene (Turner)Embry, her beloved husband, James Nash, and her dear daughters, Fay Elliott and Betty McLellan. Jewel's legacy of love and resilience will continue to live on in her family, inspiring them to carry forward her values of unity, kindness, and love for one another.

The visitation will take place on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 11:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, Indiana. Rev. Adam Berry will be officiating. As we gather to celebrate Jewel's incredible life, we encourage you to share your memories, stories, and photos of Jewel on her memorial page. This will not only serve as a tribute to her life but will also provide comfort and solace to the family during this difficult time.

The family suggest in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, Highland Baptist Church, 1305 Edwardsville-Galena Road, Georgetown, Indiana 47122 or to the American Cancer Society, P O Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
