CONSTANCE POOL Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brickman Bros. Funeral Home - Willoughby on Mar. 25, 2026.
Constance Rae Pool passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 24, 2026 at Reserve Care Hospice in Cleveland from complications from multiple myeloma. She was born July 10, 1942 in Cleveland to Clifford and Margaret Lindquist. She grew up in Euclid.

A self-described tomboy, Connie loved sports and the outdoors, playing with the boys and camping and fishing with her family. She excelled at Euclid High School, particularly in math, and played flute in the band.

Through First Covenant Church of Cleveland, she met Jerry Pool and they began dating in their teens.

After graduating with honors, Connie attended Kent State University, majoring in education. She and Jerry married in 1964. She taught junior high math in Euclid before they settled in Wickliffe where they raised their three children, Tim, Kris, and Dave.

Connie worked tirelessly to transform their home and acre of land. Her organic garden provided fresh and preserved food year-round. She loved flowers, arranging vibrant blooms from her many beds.

A lifelong competitor, she played tennis and golf (even while eight months pregnant) and enjoyed board and card games. She introduced Jerry to camping, and the family took epic trips around the country, with Connie urging everyone to climb mountains, explore caves, hike through deserts and forests, comb beaches, and bicycle on back roads and carriage paths.

She also had a lifelong love for animals and was usually the primary caregiver for the family's many pets as well as the wildlife that visited the welcoming yard.

In the '80s, Connie returned to teaching as an adjunct math teacher at Lakeland Community College. While there, she rekindled her artistic talent through ceramics, often blending art with her love for mathematics.

Deeply committed to her Christian faith, Connie was active at First Covenant–teaching adult Sunday school, singing in the choir, participating in women's groups, and serving as Financial Secretary for many years. She had a deep knowledge of scripture and often read through the entire Bible annually.

Intelligent, independent, active, creative, with a sharp wit and a knack for always finding "a better way," Connie left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Gerald Pool. She is survived by her loving children Timothy (Donna Paganini) Pool, Kristen Pool, David (Jennifer Whitworth Spencer) Pool, granddaughters Rachel Marie and Nicole Connie Pool, and siblings Carol Messenger and Werner (Rebecca) Lindquist.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 11:30 AM at First Covenant Church of Willoughby Hills, 29400 Chardon Rd. with a luncheon reception following.
