Charles Usztics Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 24, 2026.
Charles G. Usztics Jr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on November 12, 1950, in River Rouge, Michigan, Charles was the beloved son of the late Charles and Joanna Usztics. He grew up in a warm and loving family alongside his siblings, the late Harriett, John (the late Christine), the late Mark, and Pete married to Chris Savedge.

Charles graduated from River Rouge High School in 1968, where he was an excellent swimmer and a proud member of the swim team. His passion for education led him to Eastern Michigan University, where he earned a Master's Degree. Charles dedicated his career to the Romulus School District, where he taught Hospitality and Foods at Romulus High School. His innovative teaching methods allowed his students to earn college credit, a testament to his commitment to their future success.

He married the love of his life, Susan in 1982, and together they raised three wonderful children: Chuck, with Lina Sanchez; Kimberly, with Matt Hatter; and Ileana, married to Michael Gregory. Charles was also a proud grandfather to his grandchild, Darren Marcus, and loved spending time with his grand-dogs: Apollo, Remy, Kada, Zoey, and Abigail.

Charles was a man of intelligence, loving nature, and an adventurous spirit. His legacy is one of dedication, both to his family and to the countless students he inspired throughout his career. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will continue to inspire love, laughter, and the pursuit of knowledge in the hearts of his family and friends.

As we bid farewell to Charles G. Usztics, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man well-loved. His journey on earth has ended, but his story will be told for generations to come. Rest in peace, dear Charles, until we meet again.
