Barbara Ballard Obituary

Barbara Jean Ballard, 76, of Charlotte passed away April 17, 2022 at The Citadel at Myers Park. She was one of three children, born on October 28, 1945 to the late Joseph and Daisy Honeycutt Kanipe. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 38 years in 1998, Gordon Neil Ballard and also her pet, Scooter. Barbara retired after 25 years from Jenkins Electric where she made many friends. After retirement, she enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking, and cleaning. She loved to dance to Elvis and shag and enjoyed thrift store shopping. Most of all, she loved spending time with her daughter, Amy.
Survivors include her children, Brad Gibson and wife Lori and Amy Michelle Ballard; one brother; one sister; sisters in law, Kim Shoemaker and Jackie Reid ; brother in law, Chuckie Shoemaker; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a special friend, Myrna Brown.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of The Citadel at Myers Park and also to Dan Morris for their loving care of Barbara.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.
