The Family of Jerry Lee Logan, originally of Burlington is saddened to share of his peaceful passing on Jan. 20, 2024, in Fountain Hills, Arizona.
A longtime resident of Des Moines, Jerry was the proud founder of Logan Contractors Supply, Inc., that he began in 1990. He was honored to be a part of the Midwest construction industry and appreciated the many relationships that he had fostered over the years, with customers and staff alike.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father Forrest Richard Logan and mother Shirley Hollingsworth Logan McCants.
He is survived by his immediate family of three sisters, Linda Tickel of Waukee, Kathy Crowl of West Des Moines, Julie (Steve) Hearn of Carson City, Nevada; as well as his sons, Jeff (Kendra) Logan of Adel, Bruce (Barb) Logan of Prole, and Matt (Lori) Logan of Des Moines; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
Jerry was born in Burlington on May 4, 1942, to Shirley and Forrest Logan.
After graduating Burlington High in 1960, Jerry would soon begin a family of his own. As a young man, working hard as a Coke and Pepsi delivery truck driver, Jerry would eventually find his ultimate career in the construction distribution industry.
In 1990, Jerry made the ultimate decision to start his own company and this is when Logan Contractors Supply was born.
Jerry worked for many years at Logan's, until his health forced him into retirement in 2006, building a quality-branded and service-oriented business that still operates today.
Jerry loved the Arizona sun and was not a stranger to the area's casino, showing up in his Corvette that he always loved driving. He appreciated his family, afternoon "siestas," enjoying the Arizona sunsets with his girlfriend Tamara Searcey and catching up on the news and stock market reports.
A Celebration of Life is planned on May 4 (Jerry's birthday) in Des Moines for family and friends alike. (location to be determined contact [email protected], or [email protected] for information)
