John D. Yacovone, 91, died peacefully on Thursday December 21, 2023. His wife Mary would like to share that it is with profound sadness I announce our separation by death of my beloved husband John. We have been together since Junior High School. Always, the title of our love song. A man devoted to his family and his home. The Patriarch called Poppa Honey. A loving generous man who treated his family to numerous trips to Disney world and catered to us on a daily basis. The youngest of five brothers, who were in the excavating and fuel tank business. John leaves his devoted wife Mary C. (Gaudreau) Yacovone, his cherished children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and also many devoted nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. A giving and loving man who will be eternally missed. Thank you Mary for taking care of me. I love you. God Bless you. See ya in the morning for coffee.
He was predeceased by his parents and his four brothers.
John's visitation will be on Thursday December 28, 2023 from 4pm – 6pm in Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation, 220 N Main St., East Longmeadow, MA. His funeral will be on Friday December 29, 2023 at 8am in the funeral home. His Funeral Mass will be at 9:30am at St. Cecilia's Parish, 42 Main St., Wilbraham MA. Burial with military honors at St. Michael's Cemetery, Springfield MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104. To leave an online condolence visit www.forastiere.com.

My uncle John was a generous spirit. My father, (his brother, Joe) thought the world of him as did I.
He lit up a room with his presence and loved to give advice which when I was a kid I loved to listen to. With the passage of time and distance I was not as connected as I would have like to have been . I will miss my Uncle John. Sending condolences to my Aunt Mary and family. Dave
