Grace Vieu Obituary

Grace Mary Vieu
1927 - 2024
Chicopee
Obituary for Grace Vieu (née Laframboise)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Grace Vieu, who left us peacefully on December 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born as Grace Laframboise, she lived a life full of love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community.
Grace was predeceased by her cherished husband, Leon J. Vieu, who passed away on November 13, 2004, and her beloved son, Leon Junior, who left this world in 2013. Her legacy continues through her six devoted children: Mary Green of Palmer, Linda Vieu of Chicopee, Susan Reynolds of Chicopee, Robert Vieu of Springfield, Richard Vieu of South Hadley, and Marilyn Page of Ludlow. Grace was a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren, a loving great-grandmother to 23 great-grandchildren, and a delighted great-great-grandmother to one great-great-grandchild.
Grace was known for her warm smile and kind spirit, always putting her family and friends first. She will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her nurturing nature, and the countless memories she created with those she loved.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Grace's life during calling hours at Beers and Story Funeral Home, located on Newton Street in South Hadley, on December 27, 2024, at 10 AM. A church service will follow at 11:30 AM at St. Patrick's Church, 30 Main Street, South Hadley. Grace will be laid to rest immediately after the service at St. Rose Cemetery on Granby Road in South Hadley.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the nearest local children's hospital in Grace's memory. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed by all.
Rest in peace, dear Grace.

Grace was a little woman but she was strong and powerful. We shared many fun times together. As our neighbors, we would cross the street just to visit and have a lot of laughs.
We always enjoyed their family picnics. Leon and Grace were like our surrogate parents. When Rick was in the Navy on leave he always made sure he visited the Vieus .
We live in Florida now but we reminisce about them often.
Rest in peace , Dear Gracie. Our deepest sympathy !

You will be missed by so many. You have been a role model my entire life and I can only dream to be even half the caring, loving, sweet, amazing woman that you were. I can't even remember a time that you were ever mad or angry at anyone. Even when you tried to discipline us kids, you had to hold back your smile and laughter. You were an angel here on earth and now God has taken his angel up to heaven. I love you grandma. You will forever be in my heart.
