CATHRINE W, SCATES, a 60 year resident of Warren, OH, transitioned from this life on June 23, 2022 from cancer. She was born on the 13th, of September in the year of 1942 to Nathaniel Walker and Eloise Walker both of Fayetteville, NC. While she lived in Fayetteville, she married James E. Scates a Retired US Army soldier on October 13,1960 and they had five beautiful children. Who in turn gave them 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. The eldest-Danielia Crenshaw(Frank L. Crenshaw) have two children: James A.D. Scates who has two sons: James Scates (21 ), Anthony Gray (20). Their daughter is Victoria Covington who has one son: Mordecai B. Covington(3). Despina Scates(Sam Prince) have a son Dejon Scates, Diedra Favors (Michael Favors) have two children: a daughter Desja M Davis(Kevin Davis) who have 4 sons: Benjamin Torres(19), Kevin Davis(15),Christian Davis( 12), Kaleb Davis(7), and their son: Josiah K. Favors(l6). Ngwengi U. Scates who has 10 daughters: Destiny Frazier(Derrick Frazier) who have three children: Na'miyah Frazier(10), Nyjir Frazier(8), Nalij Frazier( 6), his daughter Essence Scates, Shatera Scates who has a son: Cayden Booker(l0), Malika Simpson(Wayne Simpson) who have a son: Rhyan(5), Mckenzie Scates, Jabreea Scates who has a son: Ziyon Scates(l ), Nkenge Scates, Summer Scates, Nyla Scates, and Serenity Scates. D. Jane Scates has 2 sons: Andrew Craig (Layna Craig) who have one daughter Rayne Craig(8). Roger Craig(Shaaniqa) have 3 sons: Jay'Vion Clover(3), Jiovanni Clover(2), Royce Craig(5 months) and her daughter Cayla Craig. Cathrine Scates moved to Ohio after she married James, where they stayed with his mother Leah Mae Henderson. She and her Mother-In-Law became good friends. They attended the same church-SECOND BAPTIST CHURCH of Warren, Oh. Cathrine greatly loved her church and church family at SECOND BAPTIST and was faithful in attendance for over 50 years. During her 60's she went back to school and attained her Associates degree in Business Management and Accounting. There will be a celebration of Life on Saturday July 2, 2022 at SECOND BAPTIST CHURCH, 1510 Main Ave SW, Warren OH 44483 at 9am. The Main service will take place at 10am. Please bring all food and gifts to Janie Scates home at 3830 N. Woods Court Unit 4, Warren, OH. Her home is off North Rd. There will be white balloons outside to help with the location of the home.
