Carl Starcher, 80, passed away Thursday morning, April 11, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by his family.
Carl was born on March 29, 1944 in Nebo, WV a son of the late James and Jesse Starcher.
Carl moved to Ohio and started his career at General Motors, where he retired in 2007 after 40 years of service. He also started Starcher Cattle & Grain Farm. Carl was an avid hunter, mule skinner, and trader. Most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather in which all of whom he loved spending time with. He was a mentor to many and would help anyone that needed it.
Carl will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Kristal Starcher, whom he married on June 30, 2007; children, Scott G. (Jeney) Starcher, James P. (Jodi) Starcher, and Shelby J. (Bill) Castle; grandchildren, Ashley (Jake) Paridon, Brandon (Meranda) Starcher, Andrea Castle, Brittany Starcher, Katie Jean Starcher, Nathan (Allison) Castle, Brianna (Craig) Starcher, Baylie Starcher, and James Starcher; 12 great-grandchildren and two on the way; brothers, Charles Starcher and Cecil “Bunker” Starcher; sisters, Azell Balser, Janet (Dale) Cunningham, Sandra Douglas, Linda Cottrell, Brenda (Elijah) Burnside, and Charlotte (Rocky) Cadle; his mother and father in-law Charlie and Joyce Shupe; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and his dog that he adored, Lilly.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three infant siblings.
Family and friends may visit on Monday April 15, 2024 from 2-6:00PM at Lane Family Funeral Homes Shafer-Winans Chapel, located at 164 N. High St. in Cortland and from 10-11:00AM on Wednesday April 17, 2024 at Unity Tabernacle in Chloe, WV with funeral services to follow at 11:00AM.
Burial will take place at Coen Cemetery.
Arrangements in West Virginia are entrusted with Stump Funeral Home and Cremation in Arnoldsburg, WV.
