ANGOLA - Ronda Jean Walter, 61, of Angola, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family, on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023.
She was born on May 4, 1962, to Donald W. and Beverly J. (Benninghoff) Tilbury in Angola, Indiana. She attended Prairie Heights High School.
Ronda married Donald A. Walter on Feb. 7, 2004, at Flint United Methodist Church in Steuben County.
Ronda worked as a supervisor for the Welcome Center on Interstate 69 for 18 years.
She was a long-time member of Flint United Methodist Church. Ronda loved the Lord and could find beauty in all things, whether it be the tiniest flower, a small stone or the shape of a cloud. But most of all, Ronda dearly loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 20 years, Donald, of Angola; daughter and son-in-law, Brittany Nicole and Nathan Shanyfelt; of Angola; mother, Beverly Tilbury, of Angola; stepsons, Daniel (Courtney) Walter, of Angola and Mitchell (Shana) Walter, of Bon Aqua, Tennessee; the light of her life, her 11 beloved grandchildren, Chloe Ann Shanyfelt, Brantley Tyler Wayne Shanyfelt, Laynxtynn Riley Jean Shanyfelt, Joel Ryan Shanyfelt, Noah A. Walter, Weston L. Walter, Lena L. Walter, Corbin A. Walter, Lacey A. Walter, Marilyn R. Walter and Elijah D. Walter. Also surviving are her sisters, Tena (Dan) Dossett, of Angola, Indiana, and Ina (Dick) Crist, of Bryan, Ohio; and many nieces; nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Lisa Shangreaux, of Plymouth, Indiana, Annette Davis, of Osseo, Michigan, and Debbie Cole, of Camden, Michigan.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald W. Tilbury; and her grandparents.
Private family graveside services will be held.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, at Flint United Methodist Church, 510 N. Flint Road, Angola, IN 46703.
