RUBY RIEDL Obituary

Ruby Francis Riedl, passed away Friday, June 17th, at Sherman Hospital. She was 83. She was born February 24, 1939, in Wayne City, IL, the daughter of Harry and Mae Hodgen Scott. She met her husband, John while working at ITW Shakeproof. They were married on October 7, 1967, and were happily married for 54 years. Lovingly called "Gee" by her grandchildren, she was a longtime resident of Huntley, until moving to West Dundee, where she lived for the past 14 years. Ruby was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. She was a retired real estate agent. She loved playing card games with family, attending her grandchildren's sporting events, and playing slots at the casino. She was happy sitting on her back porch listening to the birds or watching the eagles feed at the river dam. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, and 3 brothers. She is survived by her husband, John; children, Brenda (Thomas) Rainey, Penny (Ronald) Johnson, and Daniel (Sis) Riedl; brothers, Jackie (Joyce) Scott, of Sims, and Thomas Scott, of Elgin; grandchildren, Thomas (Lauren) Rainey, Christopher (Vanessa) Rainey, Jeremy Rainey, Jamie (Christopher) Cvengros, Nicholas Riedl, Emma Riedl, and John Riedl; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. At Ruby's request, her body will be donated for the advancement of science. Her final resting place will be St. Mary's Cemetery, Huntley.
