Lindé Miriam Healey It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Lindé Miriam Healey at the age of 80. Born at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York to Gertrude and Minham Harrison, Lindé was a beloved wife to Thomas Healey, a devoted mother to Jonathan Healey, and a dear sister to Harlan Harrison and his wife Helen, all of whom survive her and cherish her memory.
Lindé's life journey took her from the halls of Rider College in New Jersey to the corridors of Katharine Gibbs in Boston. Her zest for life and adventure saw her through vibrant years in New York City, tranquil times in New Hampshire, formative years in Atlanta where she welcomed her son into the world, and nurturing years in Westport, Connecticut where she raised Jonathan with love and dedication. Lindé spent her latter years in the warm communities of Atlanta and The Villages, Florida, embracing life's pleasures and friendships.
Lindé's early career as a personal assistant to the president of Joseph E. Seagram & Sons showcased her gifted mind and ability to navigate the corporate world with grace and efficiency. She was a woman of many passions, from interior design to bridge, a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees, an enthusiast for travel, and a connoisseur of food and fine restaurants. Her hands weaved beauty through needlepoint, and her heart was always open to those in need. Whether sending a gift to the sick, offering financial support, providing a shoulder to cry on, or giving sage advice, Lindé was a beacon of empathy and kindness.
Her impact on others was profound; her genuine enthusiasm for the lives and interests of those around her left an indelible mark. Lindé was the epitome of class and elegance, yet always grounded and approachable.
As we say goodbye, we remember Lindé as a woman of high spirits and humor, a loving soul whose absence will be deeply felt. In recognition of her loving spirit, instead of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to Lindé's heart.
Please join us to honor Lindé's legacy on January 4, 2024. A calling hour will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Gleason Funeral Home in Schenectady, New York, immediately followed by a service at the funeral home, and burial at Memory Gardens in Colonie, New York.
Lindé lived a life of purpose, love, and joy. She was, and always will be, a wonderful and thoughtful person in our hearts.
