Judy and Marty Jr: I got word of Marty's passing on Thursday, and explored about every possibility of flying to Chicago to be with you. It just did not work out. I'm so sorry and know these are difficult times. Your Husband and Father came to my rescue when I really needed a friend. He put me to work at Marty's Auto Sales and I had the pleasure of working with Larry and shared many laughs during the night hours. My kids still remember Marty going to the concession stand and bringing some candy to them while they sat in the stands watching a softball game. He was a great man, a man of honor, and his handshake was the law.
Getting old "sucks" and all I ever get are notices of my friends passing away. This one hit me the hardest because we shared time at the "lot"; played racquetball like it was the last game we would ever play. What fun, what laughs. I have nothing but fond memories of Marty and his kindness. Prayers and love to you.
