Elizabeth Francis Parsley, 97, passed away peacefully Friday, June 3, 2022 at Franklin Grove Nursing and Rehab in Franklin Grove, Illinois.
Elizabeth was born on July 24, 1924 to Jurgen and Mary (Huhr) Greenfield in Ashton, IL. On May 6, 1945, she married Bernard William Parsley in Rochelle. After 72 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on June 6, 2017. Elizabeth retired as the Post Master in Malta, IL after many years. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle.
Elizabeth is survived by her three children: Mary Parsley of Rochelle, Shirley Parsley Chrestman of Glendale, AZ, and Norman (Debbie) Parsley of Peoria, IL; two grandchildren: Shelly (Mark) Gardner of Sycamore, IL and Adam (Jen) Chrestman of Menifee, CA; two great grandchildren: Madelyne Johnson of Columbia, MO and MacKenzie (Jacob) Smith of Sycamore, IL; great great grandson, Mack Alan Smith; sister, Evelyn Bearrows of IL; brother-in-law, Dale Svela and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth is predeceased by six brothers: Hank, Robert, Elmer, Wilbur, Paul and Raymond Greenfield and sister, Ella Nickle.
The service of celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1415 10th Ave., Rochelle on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:50 A.M. The memorial service will follow at 12:00 P.M. with Pastor Greg Hoffmann officiating. Burial of the ashes will be at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Elizabeth's memory to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rochelle, IL. Visit www.ungerhorner.com to sign the online guest book.
