Terry Summers Obituary

TERRY LEON SUMMERS

August 31, 1959 – May 1, 2025

Bakersfield – Terry Leon Summers went to be with the Lord on May 1st, 2025. He grew up in Wasco, California and was very proud of that. Terry was one of a kind! He definitely could make anyone laugh or roll their eyes. He loved to ride his horse, team rope, go to Vegas, and be out on the lake wakeboarding and surfing. He loved his wife Dee with his whole heart. His children and grandchildren never doubted how deeply they were loved by him. His family was his life, always there for each one of them. He was lucky to have so many loyal friends.

Terry is survived by his wife and best friend Deanna, children Tarrah Gentry (Dale), Trey Summers (Ananda), Brittney Tackett (Randall), Jake Tackett (Wendi), and Lexi Tackett; grandchildren Saylor, Reece, Kayden, Kai, Silas, and Luca; his sister Kim Bean (Mike), and brother Chris Summers (Darryl).

Terry will always be our "Tiger of the Year!" Our world will never be the same. We find comfort knowing we will see him again in Heaven.

We will celebrate his life with a BBQ on June 28, 2025 at 11:00 am. 17144 Rosedale Hwy.

So sad to hear. I had many good memories roping with Terry and being around him. Been away from roping for a while so I lose track of a lot of my old buddies. Condolences to all of you.He was a great guy.
