Alan
Peacefully at home on 1st June 2024, surrounded by the love of his family, Alan, aged 88 years. Beloved husband of Averil for
61 happy years, very much loved father, grandad, great-grandad, brother, uncle, friend to many &
a much respected former teacher & Lay Preacher. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
His Committal Service will take place at 10.30am on Tuesday 25th June at Park Wood Crematorium, Elland, followed by a Thanksgiving Service at New Hope URC,
Warley Road at 11.30am, to which all are welcome. Family flowers only please, but donations may be made in lieu to Overgate Hospice - a collection box will be
available on the day.

Happy memories of Alan. I was on the teaching staff if Roomfield Junior and later Ferney Lea Junior, both in Todmorden. Alan was a committed Christian so would not fear death. He now lives free of sorrow and pain, and in joyful union with citizens of heaven. Until we meet again Alan,peace and joy with Christ our Lord

I have fond memories of Mr. Jowett from my early school days and have thought of him often over the years. He was a lovely man.
