Michael Wzorek Obituary

Michael R. Wzorek, 67 of Chicago, IL. Passed away on August 14, 2021. Devoted son of the late Edward Wzorek and the late Ann nee Stygar. Fond brother of the late Paul and Mark Wzorek. Survived by best friends Joseph (Elizabeth) Bara and Mark (Denise) Bozyk. Proud Godfather of Jessica (Matt) Tranowski and Alicia Bozyk, William Wagner. Loving uncle of Joseph (Robin) Bara, Tricia (Joe) Sherno, Tara (Evan) Paradies, and Mark Bozyk. Mike served as an administrator for the City Colleges of Chicago for many years. He was an integral part of the Finance Department, where he worked as the Associate Director of Budget, Planning, and Analysis. Mike was later promoted to District Director of Information Technology
Services, where he served as a valued member of the team until his retirement. He was a lifelong resident of McKinley Park and parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul parish, where he enjoyed assisting with the parishes weekly accounting. Mike was a St Rita High School graduate and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago. Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool, occasionally playing the ponies, and caring for his loyal canine companion Max. We will remember Mike’s kindness, loving nature, and generosity to all who knew him.
 
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 20th from 3 to 8 p.m. at The Sourek Funeral Home, located at 5645 W. 35th st., Cicero. Saturday August 21st a funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul church. Please meet at church on Saturday morning. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL.
