I first met Frank in 1982. I had just become the Director of Institutional Research and Planning at Thornton Community College. He was a Board Member of the College. Everything that I saw him accomplish reflected the direction of his moral compass. The direction of his compass always pointed to the uplift and development of everyday people. He would continue extolling these beliefs in everything he did; in every position the people entrusted him to lead. My friendship and support was based upon this mutual trust and admiration, built over these many years. Though Frank may be gone physically, his words, deeds, accomplishments and often earthy admonitions are still with us; good things that he left with us. My sincere condolences to Frank’s family, friends and constituents. Matter of fact, his constituents would probably tell you that Frank considered them his family and friends. God bless, rest well Frank.

I would like to express my condolences to Frank's family and friends on his sudden passing. Gone too soon.
As the activity director at Thornridge High school (2002 - 2011), I have many fond memories of Frank. We ran so many holiday drives with the Township as well as sending so many kids over the years to volunteer at the various events. Most of all, I truly enjoyed with Frank and Ernestine Brown in lending their support every year as I put together the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day program at South Suburban College. He always commented on what "a great job the kids did" as well as most gracious in his "thank you" for doing such "a great job."
One of Frank's best qualities is that no matter how many people are in the room, when he spoke to you he always made you feel like you were the only person in the room, the most important person in the room.
Best of all, was Frank's selflessness. He was always concerned about others, putting everyone else's needs above his own needs. I think that's why Frank was so beloved. I remember one conversation in particular where we both related about how much time we've given to others, living by the mantra, "Make the world a better place." He always made you feel special.
Without a doubt, Frank certainly has done that...he leaves a great legacy with all that he accomplished. He was simply the best! May he rest eternally in the arms of God. Peace and love.

We, Lansing Human Relations Commissioners, share our condolences and prayers for the family, friends, colleagues, etc. He was a true man of God because he cared for people of all walks of life. His deliverance of service to the people of Thornton Township was on the highest level. His actions showed true works for the people. My personal experience was having the opportunity to do my practicum from University of Chicago, SSA at Thornton Township. A colleague and I presented a training on “Say no to Drugs” in the 90’s to 4th and 5th graders in two Calumet City Schools. As the Chairperson of Lansing Human Relations Commission, my heart goes out to all the people of Thornton Township, surrounding areas and the entire state of Illinois.
