I remember Peter fondly as my god father and as the inspiration for MY moniker. I have strong and solid memories of time spent staying with you all on the farm at Glen Hope: lumpy porridge, sledding with fat on the runners, driving the landy while
feeding out, pushing the sheep under water with the big stick thing in the sheep dip, him skinning pigs he´d shot , eeling the creek with Steve, going to the swimming hole at grandmas house and once picking up hitchhikers on the way back from Dizzies store when their packs got covered with the stinky milk stuff that Peter got to feed the pigs . He was a warm, funny and generous dude but not at all hesitant to give you a bit of stick-I guess as a townie I was fair game. Also Peter was one person who could gently give the old man some well deserved stick too . I loved visiting him when he was ranger in Abel Tasman and hearing about the antics of the tourists and the wekas. Barbara, Jenny Sue,Lynette,Gillian,Steve and your families I am sorry for your loss. Take comfort that he was a great fella who lived a great life and well in a fabulous part of the world. His memory lives on in those of us lucky enough to have known him.
