I have fond memories of Trevor as a work colleague and friend - he was one of the best to work alongside and he had this wonderful sense of humour - he was a great guy and will be sorely missed

A real sadness to learn of Trevor's passing. It had been such a joy to work with Trevor in the early days of setting up Big Brothers Big Sisters, Nelson. Trevor's quiet courage and determination has been an inspiration to so many others. May the Lord protect and guide all Trevor's family through these tough times.
Brian Hurst. Nelson.

Sorry to hear of Trevors passing.I had the pleasure of working with Trevor on the Metro Toronto Police Force in the sixties. He taught me how to play chess and I told him about my connection to Big Brothers in Toronto. It is wonderful to know he went on to play such a large role in that organization. Trevor set me out on my career, and was a wise and patient tutor and mentor. I see that mentoring and helping seemed to be something of a theme in his life.
Although I haven't seen him for 30 years, I was really saddened to hear of his passing. I will always remember him fondly, a lovely man.

Trevor was instrumental in bringing the youth mentoring programme, Big Brothers Big Sisters to New Zealand. Due to his tenacity and vision the programme was established in the nineties and is now a national organisation helping literally hundreds of vulnerable children and young people each year. Without Trevor, this wouldn't have happened. He's left an incredible legacy.

Trevor was my boss and so much fun to work for. I valued his humour and insights immensely.

From our organisation and from my family (Vonnie, Jaz, Sophia and Jacob) I send condolences to the Gaskell family.
