Tony KIRCHER Obituary
Unexpectedly at his home on August 17, 2022. Most dearly loved husband of Jaye. Devoted and very much loved dad and father-in-law of Sam and Brittney, and Bella. Treasured "Tony Baloney" to Alycia. Loved son of Jennifer and Murray. Loved brother and brother-in-law of David and Helen, Keryn and Andrew, Joanne and Phil Neill, Paul and Linda. Dearly loved son-in-law of Basil (dec) and Shirley O'Connor, and loved brother-in-law of Cheryl O'Connor, Tony and Keri, Karolyn and Rune, and Stefan and Nia. Loved uncle to his nieces and nephews and great-nephews. Fabulous friend to many. A service to celebrate Tony's life will be held at Aoraki Funeral Services Chapel, 160 Mountain View Road, Timaru, on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 1.00pm, followed by private cremation. A livestream of the service is available, please email- [email protected] or call on 6862148. A Great Totara has Fallen.
We are struggling to process the sudden passing of a very special person and are at a loss for words to express our sadness.
Our thoughts are with you Jaye and all of the Kircher family.
Have got great memories of the Super Slugges (Kirch was a founding member of this elite group of athletes) & was usually central to the various antics we used to get up to ( like the time in the Mot to Nelson relay, when we not only cleaned up the Social grade but also beat the B grade Harriers & gave the A grade Harriers " a run for their money". There were allegations the Slugges were full of registered Harriers but in reality not one of us was-such was the quality of the Slugges). Also treasured memories of holidays at Totaranui with Kirch, running the coastal tracks & making the most of that idyllic place.
Kirch was a very caring bloke and such a positive person & it was always fun when he was around. He will be sorely missed by so many.
Jaye I am very sorry that I will be unable to come down to Kirch´s service, but I will be there in spirit.

Absolutely stunned and saddened to hear the news. So sorry to Tony's family. He was a good fun manager in the office to myself and Bob Taylor at SRS.
