Passed away peacefully at Oakwoods, aged 76. Son of Roy and Millie Bishop. Brother to Rosemary and the late Sylvia. Father to Julian and Michelle. Special Grandy to Samantha, Jack and Sid. A private cremation has been held. Messages for the Bishop family can be sent to Shone and Shirley Funeral Directors, 164 Tahunanui Drive, Tahunanui, Nelson 7011.

The Bishop and Baker families grew up together in Chingford UK and after we all migrated to NZ our friendship continued. Stephen always wanted to be in the airforce with an interest in planes and flying. A great mate over the years and had many memorable times together. Will miss you.

I was one of five siblings who walked or cycled past the Bishop home, opposite the phonebox at the foot of Orsman Crescent, every schoolday. I left in 1967 to go to Teachers' College.
Stephen came up to the farm to play with my brothers and I remember him as a friendly lad. On behalf of Anthony, Gabriel, Philip and the late David, I would like to extend sincere condolences to all the family.
