Sonia THOMSON Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Nelson Hospital on November 14, 2023, aged 74 years. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of the late Devlin, Kathleen and Kai, Mark, Andrew. Cherished grandmother to Devlin, Kymo, and Clifford. Beloved sister of John (dec) and Sandra, Richard and Pauline and their children. Heartfelt thanks to Sonia's carers over the years who became good friends. A special friend to many in the Nelson area, as well as all her wonderful Canadian friends and neighbors, she will be dearly missed by all. A celebration of Sonia's life will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, Vanguard Street, Nelson on Monday, November 20, 2023 commencing at 1.30pm. Messages to The Thomson Family, C/- 41 Nile Street, Nelson 7010.

Sorry to hear of Sonia's passing. I have some great childhood memories of her. We found this picture of Sonia and Kohi amongst Olga's photos. She was beautiful bride. Steve and Claire Oxnam Waikuku Beach.

Sonia and her family were neighbours when we lived on Tahunanui hillside as children. We played together as small children and as we got older we went out and about. She was very serene and elegant as a child and even more so as she grew older. I enjoyed my times visiting Sonia when I came back to Nelson on visits. My condolences to her immediate and extended family and friends. My brother Brent also sends his condolences to the family, especially to Richard.
