To Gill and family, I'm very sorry but have only just learned of Russell's passing. Have many happy memories of your days when Russell played rugby for Kia Toa and you were a Dental Nurse at Terrace End School. I can remember the visits you made to Mum and Dad 's place in Heretaunga Street. It was great spending time with Russ at Lodge, and Lyn and I remember when you had us out to your place when I was coaching a hockey team at the Collier Trophy in 1991. Russell and I shared many chats over the years and was always great to catch up on our respective lodge news. Rest in Peace my friend

I met Russell at the hospital as a student nurse with an interest in knowing how everything worked in my workplace over the years consulting Russell on various matters esp related to equipment. In our retirement we were members of the same Probus club, when I joined Russell was quick to reintroduce himself to me and welcome me to the club. A very nice man. RIP

Our thoughts are with you Gill and family. A reliable and great guy to be associated with both through rugby and work. He always created a presence on the rugby field in the 1960's and 1970's good enough to play NZ trials and for South Island. As an Engineer he was innovative with the likes of planned maintenance on crucial hospital plant but also in reducing coal consumption to keep the boilers going.

We are so very sorry to hear of Russell´s passing. I used to love our chats in the corridors of Nelson hospital back in the old days. You always asked after Dick, having met him through work being done by him at the hospital. One of the kindest and rarest gentlemen I´ve ever known. R.I.P Russell.

Gillian and extended Family, it is with great sadness to hear of Russ's passing. He was a true gentleman and friend. It was a pleasure being associated with Russ both as a teammate on the rugby field in the late 1960's and as a faithful friend right through until his passing. R.I.P old mate.
