Ronette PICKERING Obituary

Died on Thursday, July 25, 2024. Over her 82 years she was a beloved first child, an older sister, a wife, a proud parent of three children, a passionate teacher, artist, and wonderful friend with a knack for sharing her curiosity and caring. Ronette always marvelled at her luck at 'being here at all' and died content with all her many adventures. Please join a 'Retrospective for Ronette' at Fairfield House on Sunday, September 8 from 2.00pm. Bring your favourite memories and a plate to share.

I only just learnt of Ronette's passing today and am deeply saddened. I met her through her son Tim who we shared his passion for all things guitars. Sadly I have just learnt of his passing too. A sad time with the family in my thoughts. Neville Calugthon Mr Music Nelson

I won't be able to do life drawing ever again without thinking of Ronette, who was a wonderful, insightful and challenging tutor when I was studying in 1994. She was straight-talking and compassionate, which is a very rare combination. Grateful to have had the chance to learn from her.

We shared an office at NMIT and both worked in the school of Arts and Media. Ronette was always kind and infinitely supportive. I admired her skill and depth of knowledge especially in the area of figure drawing. Sometimes our dogs, Lugh, Molly and May played ball in Albion Square at lunchtime. We stayed friends upon retirement and visited every few months. I will miss her kindness, intelligence and humour. I will remember her as a thoughtful, caring woman. In mind and heart.....My condolences to family.

To an incredible teacher (the boss!) and mentor who supported us all to push our boundaries around what we thought we could achieve. Such a massive contribution and support to so many. Your legacy of creativity and curiosity lives on in all of us Ronette.

We will love Tessa as you did.

So lucky to have had you in my life and will always be grateful for being taken under your wing. You leave a Ronette shaped gap behind that will not be easily filled. Much love to the family - you have been presented with way too many things xxoo

Sending much love on the loss of a beautiful woman. We worked together at NMIT and she was a most treasured colleague.
