Ben and Chris,Winston and I send our heartfelt condolences to you both at the sad loss of your Dad.We have so many memories of your time on The Cliffs and we are so sorry that we cannot catch up in person with you both tomorrow as we are in Christchurch helping Gareth packup his house ready for his move to Australia .We would have loved to see what fine young men you have become something We are sure made your Dad proud. To Cathy, Ben and Chris,
I was very sorry to hear of Bobs passing and unfortunately will be out of town tomorrow so unable to attend the funeral as have scheduled meetings with other parties that have made their travel arrangements.
I have known Bob for approx. 45 years when we were both members of the Nelson Aero Club. I think Bob would be the only person who has ever and most likely to be the only person to have taxied an aeroplane into Nelson CBD when he brought ZKCIH a Piper Cherokee from Neale Park, where he landed it, into Bowater's car yard where it was displayed for awhile.
the family may well have a photo of this and want to mention it at the funeral.
