I worked with Bob at Air Nelson many years ago. He was a wonderful person and great to work with. I hold many memories of our time working together. My sympathy to Joy and the family.

Very sad to hear of Bob's passing but I had caught up relatively recently at the Marlborough Aero Club, so was certainly aware of his struggles. We go back to the 70s and the Safe Air days and then Air Nelson where Bob was a dedicated and effective member of the executive and operations team. Bob was particularly driven to improve pilot training and to raise flying standards and in this regard he was more effective than most and will be remembered fondly by hundereds of pilots who came into his sphere of influence.
Sincere condolences to Joy, the girls and families. Ian

Thinking of you all so very much
I first met Bob when I left college and worked at Safe Air.
My Dad (Ken) also knew Bob well through the Air New Zealand connection.
Bob was a super guy, always wearing the same cheeky smile whenever you saw him attached to a terrific sense of humour.
Always enjoyed running into him in the years that followed.
Fly high now Bob
Sending our deepest sympathy

Knowledge and experience were the two qualities that Bob brought to every task plus the light touch that superior aviators have. From the training classroom to line operations to the project team, Bob worked diligently to deliver the required result without fuss or drama. The aviation world will miss his efforts and we will miss his company and sense of humour.
My deepest sympathy to Joy and his family.
