Rex BRINKHURST Obituary
On Monday, May 3, 2021, at Summerset in the Sun, aged 92 years, surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband of Diana for 68 wonderful years. Much loved father and father-in-law of Stephen and Sandra, Therese and Richard, Sally and Paul, and Diana and Mark, and his 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. We will gather to farewell Rex on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11.00am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Songer Street, Stoke, Nelson, followed by private cremation at Wakapuaka Crematorium. We would like to thank Dr. Mike Mawdsley, Nelson Hospital, Access staff, and the wonderful staff at Summerset in the Sun for their excellent care and attention of Rex. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John Ambulance would be greatly appreciated.

Sincere condolences to Di and family. Rex was a wonderful neighbour to us for several years. He was a true gentleman, witty, caring, and a great friend! We will remember him fondly and are heart broken for your loss.

Dear Mrs Brinkhurst, Sally, Diana & families
I was sorry to read of Mr Brinkhursts passing and send my love to you all during this sad time. I have such fond memories of our teenage years and staying over at your house on the weekends, I'll be keeping you all in my prayers.

So sorry to read of Rex's passing. We had many great times at the Nelson Bowling Club. Unfortunately cannot make it on Saturday but thoughts will be with you all - Allan Griffiths
