Philippa and John Foes-Lamb
March 27, 2025
We were very sad to hear that our lovely neighbour, Ray died on 25 February. We were told on 26 March and feel bereft that we missed our chance to say goodbye at his service. We were direct neighbours for more than twenty years and thought the world of both Ray and Barbara. We mainly saw each other over the paddock fence and enjoyed lively conversation and a lot of laughter with Ray. Ray had a tough but gentle spirit that saw him through many health issues and losing Barbara. We are so thankful that we saw him a few days before he died. Ray, we'll miss your sense of humour and your kindness towards us. Rest now with your gorgeous Barbara. Much love, Philippa and John - Philippa and John Foes-Lamb

Sad to read of Ray's death. I remember him as hard working and generous. Both he and Barbara were good friends. R.I.P. Ray.

Very sad to see that Ray has passed away. He certainly had a full life and was a great character. I worked with Ray to help him subdivide his land in Maisey Road and we used to enjoy his visits to the office and to listen to his great stories about what he had been up to. He will now be with his lovely Barabara who I also used to work with when she was on the reception at Knapps. Condolences to the family from all of us at Newton Survey

Memories of 63 yrs ago when Ray was best man at Bryan and my wedding, Ray and Barbara were living up on the port hills, they came to our 50th wedding anniversary party and Ray phoned me for a long catch up not long ago. A man who spoke his mind. R.I.P. Ray Pamela Chapman.

Sorry to hear of Rays passing. I enjoyed being his companion driver on occasions, and his spark for life. He was a good sort. Rest in Peace Ray.

So glad I got to spend some quality time with Ray over the last few years. Thanks for all the yarns over coffee, and the directions whilst driving (all the back streets and short cuts). We never did make it to Farewell spit together, but when I do, I'll have an ice cream for you. X

One of Raymond's favorite sayings to me while I was preparing his meals was "I'm getting up there in the tree you know"
Rest in peace my friend.
