Sending our deepest sympathy to the Assaf family. We loved it when Mr Assaf visited Tapawera in his iconic van. He was such a cheerful gentleman and a very good salesman. Those were the good days.

Peter's death reminds me of the smiling kind man who lived in our Tudor Street and had an interesting well set out clothing shop opposite the school. Peter is also remembered fondly by those from the extensive rural community who he visited in that old van.

Great memories of Peter having dinner with us at Kaihoka after a big day travelling in his Van all the way from Collingwood to Paturau calling on folk every six weeks. He loved a roast followed by a game of Poker (which he mostly won). Rest peacefully Peter.

To Laurel and family,
I was sorry to hear of Peters passing and wish to pass on our condolences to you all. I have known Peter pretty much all my life and remember him always being here. My godfather was Robin Wratt and when he and Rona got married Peter was upset that I'd been invited and he hadn't! When I explained why he was a little happier.
My wife's memory was hearing him say I've got just the thing for you!
