I recall NoHo during the time he was acting Education Board Manager during the education reforms of the late 1980s. A gentle kind man who did much to ease my way into a new position in a new organisation So grateful for that Lesley Kia Kaha tuahine

When I was 7, Mrs. Kotua was my teacher. Computers and email were being introduced into schools and one of our class tasks was to send an email to a family member. My family did not have a computer, so I was the only student who had nobody to email. Mrs. Kotua asked if I would be happy to email her husband instead. Thus blossomed the most gentle and beautiful friendship between an overly excited young girl and a wonderful man who took time out of his day to make her included. Mr. Kotua, I hope you know the profound impact you had on me and my education, both yourself and your wife have a place in my heart forever. Thank you for your patience and kindness towards a wee girl eager to get to computer time to tell Mr. Kotua all about her new tie dye dress. Rest forever in love and peace.
