Dear Nana thank you for being part of our lives. Early days at the farm mucking around down at the creek balling hay for the dry stock and picking plums in the orchard. Staying at 40 Royal View with the view of the new harbour bridge. The smell of Pops bay rum. A Boiled egg and Vogels toast for breakfast before heading off to school.Holidays at Foster Bay rowing the dingy digging for pretend gold in the clay banks. Going out in the boat fishing and just being in that beautiful
place swimming at high tide and walking around the rocks to the shop to buy some
bubble gum. Warm summer nights watching black and white TV at the bach. when you moved back to Nelson in the 70s we loved coming down there to have more adventures and to go to the speedway at the beach(Tahuna)Going out to Stoke to pick raspberries which Aunty Jean made into fabulous pies(Yum)When you came back to Auckland we would go to Speedway with pop at western springs and dream of being motor racing heroes one day. You always had cakes in your baking tins custard on the stove and a beautiful roast for an evening meal. Enjoyed our talks about the way things were in your day and all the things you have seen in your life. As you often said you lived in the best of times and had a wonderful life full of hard work enterprise and reward Miss you.
