Peacefully surrounded by family on December 12, 2025, on the eve of her 90th birthday. Dearly loved wife of the late Gerry. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Rosina, Tony, Lilian and Bernie Washer, Mike and Marina, the late Chris and Louise, and Angela. Dearly loved and proud Oma of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many thanks to all involved in her care over the last year.

'Strong, loving and determined to the end'

A service will be held at Marsden House Funeral Home Chapel, 41 Nile Street, on Monday, December 15, at 10.00am. In lieu of flowers donations to Nelson Tasman Hospice would be appreciated.

We were neighbours with Mr and Mrs Cornelissen as a young couple and they were so kind .Mien came and showed us how to wallpaper ( I think she ended up just doing the whole job ) with great skill and speed.
Always busy with her hands and doing beautiful needlework .Our sincere condolences to all the family - I don't believe we will see the like of that generation again .Rest in Peace .

Condolences to all the family. Mien will leave a big gap in your lives but leaves many happy memories. She was so proud of you all.
She and Ge and family were very much a part of our lives as we grew up and beyond. My trips to Nelson won't be the same without a visit.
