Sad to hear yesterday of a great man who made a great contribution to the city and region over so many years
Nelson´s water treatment plant, infrastructure and roading projects are his legacy to this city and will continue to be appreciated for many years
From a personal point of view as Mayor at the time, Mikes support for me was hugely appreciated as we went through a period of change .
Inga, thankyou for sharing your husband with us and the city and please accept my condolences

To Inga, and Shelley, both of whom I have seen lovingly taking care of Mike - I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I enjoyed his quiet dignified presence when he attended the TripleA seated exercise classes, always persevering with a focussed smile and determination. A courageous effort every time. He will be remembered.
