Most dearly beloved wife of Tu'i, mother of Bryan and Joshua, daughter of Doris; niece, cousin and in-law of many in PNG, Tonga and NZ. She will be loved in memory as a colleague, mentor and friend of both staff and students in Pacific and NZ universities. Special thanks to the lovely emergency services people who came to our aid. Dearest Ruth, although our interactions were solely online (Zoom and email), it was a privilege to get to know you over time. Your wisdom will always be cherished, especially your analogy that writing a great thesis is like weaving a flower garland - gathering flowers (literature), tying them together slowly, and connecting the ends. The challenge remains to weave ideas together seamlessly, just like threading flowers into a beautiful garland. You will always be remembered, Waanii Jasni, Malaysian PhD candidate.

I'm sorry I didn't get to know you better growing up and as an adult, but you turned out so fine, and what a wonderful orator you were. You had the family talent for stories and language and made us all very proud. You will be greatly missed. Love to your Mum and your own beautiful family.

Dearest Ruth, it was a great pleasure to get to know you over time, even though all our interactions were online (zoom and email).
I was always inspired by your passion and practical ways to support our Pacific students and educate staff on effective teaching methods at the university. I miss your presence and send my prayers and love to your family. You will always be remembered as a gentle, patient, funny, and strong Pacific wahine toa! Alofa tele atu xxx
