Life smiled down on me when I met Mary in 2004. At this time Mary was a member of the Nelson Lionesses and her infectious joy of life rubbed off on me. We had so many fun times together while working hard for our community. Somewhere along the way, a little group of "single ladies" created a "family gathering" each month where we would eat, chat, drink and laugh. Once Mary moved from her little home into GreenGables, our gatherings didn't happen as often however we did continue to visit Mary on special occasions. I am forever in Mary's debt as she imparted her wisdom on her love of family, her dog Jazz and her love of liquid refreshments. Just the week before Mary got ill, we had a lovely afternoon tea with her where we chatted about the coming festive time and her plans to enjoy this special time with her beloved family. Mary never let life get the better of her and I will miss her sweet smile that always reached her sparkling eyes and her caring spirit that made you feel so special to be in her company. A great lady..gone from this earth but never from our hearts.

I knew Mary from Otumarama as I was a career there. Mary always liked a chat and we used to watch Coro together when my shift finished at 9.30.I would make us both a hot drink and we watched it in her room. Shower day She always wanted me to help her as she loved the way I would massage her scalp. She used to purr during the procedure. Will miss you lots Mary. Rest Easy Beautiful lady. Xxx

My deepest condolences to you all. I have some wonderful memories of Mary that go back from being a teenager, getting married and gatherings much later on.
Rest in peace Mary, you´ll remain in the hearts and memories for always.
P.S. Thank you for the spinach cake recipe - it´s a fave!
