Ruth was my first teacher in February 1961, at Takaka District High School. She was a very kind and patient teacher. Love to Diane.

Happy memories of early school days on Takaka 1957
Ruth and Dianne were my first two teaches. I was so very shy and had not long list my dad. I will always remember their kindness and concern for me. In 2004 our class had a reunion in Nelson and it was lovely to see them both there. Sending my best wishes and condolences to you Dianne.

Miss Cowan was my Std 1 teacher in Patea around 1955 (yr3) & Miss Barraball the following year in Std 2 (yr4 ).They were both the most amazing teachers, & I was one of the lucky ones to be taught by them. I then followed in their footsteps.....to a career in teaching. Our paths have crossed a number of times over the years, since then, & I feel very privileged to have known them. My heart goes out to Di especially, & to the family. My memories will be cherished forever. Sincere sympathy Sharon Bergstrom (nee Cosford)

Deepest sympathy to you Diane. A very sad time with Ruth´s passing. We have happy memories of "The Teachers" during our Patons Rock holidays, especially the little pop up ice cream shop. We still call the house on the hill the "Teachers House".

Dianne, I am thinking of you and sending my love. Although I met and worked with Ruth in Golden Bay, my vivid memory is when you and Ruth stayed with myself and Granny Anne in her 500 yr old cottage in England. It was lovely to share that with both of you and to hear your travel adventures. You shared so many wonderful memories together. A great partnership. With love, Lorraine
