So many happy memories of happy Manaia...face always lit up when we met and loved a good laugh. I can never drive past the blue house at Tasman without remembering the Kelly family. Sad for you in particular Victor...I'm sure you'll always fondly remember your good buddy and brother.
Special memories... working with his whanau at Bob Chignall's boysenberry gardens on the Ruby Bay Bluffs.... playing junior rugby for Rangers then Manaia returning home from Army leave to play for Tui Tibble's Senior Reserve grade at Collingwood (1977 I think). Manaia was so focused and fired up as No. 12 he got us up. He looked so happy whenever I saw him out and about driving Eddie Voigt's bin truck. He never forgot a relative nobody like me and I'll never forget you Manaia.
Sorry for late tribute but I only just found out through Masi Tetua about Manaia's passing. You deserve a good place of rest and recreation
