I remember fond memories of Lyn as we started our families together, meeting in our antenatal class at North Shore hospital. Then renewing our friendship as we both ended up in Nelson and Rayna and Sarah attending Nelson Girls together. Lyn roped me in to coach a Year 10 netball team, she was a good mentor and a lovely person. Ive been bereft thinking that your life ended this way. I will fossick through early photos for Rayna. My love and thoughts with all your family.
Rest easy Lyn, my goodness you deserve it. XX

My memories of Lyn (Lynley, my mum and dad always called her) are from the Murchison Swimming Club days - I was in awe of her and can recall so clearly her quiet determination and effortless- seeming swimming style. So Powerful then and later in life. To Colleen and Ray, Carol, Michael, Jo and families and Lyn´s own family I send deepest sympathy and aroha.

To Rayna, Colleen, Ray, Carol and other family members.
Like thousands of people I have been very sad and angry at Lynley's beautiful life being taken.
Much as I wanted to visit you all the timing is too raw for me currently as my son died of cancer just a year ago.
I managed to go to the Cathedral yesterday....and vividly recalled that little 5 and 6 year old who displayed all the characteristics that have been lauded over the past two sad weeks.
Even at that age she was a trouper...looked out for Carol like a little mother....her integrity and kindness very evident.
I have very fond memories of you all...and share your grief.
With love...Alison

To the Fleming Family. I used to run into Lyn when she fueled up at BP. The last conversation I had with her after a laugh. Was Merry Christmas and Have an even better New Year. Hope there's not too many idiots out there. She said Its the baddies who keep us in a job. lol. I said ok, you can have a couple of idiots then, but nothing serious. Told her to be safe out there. She said Always turned around and smiled. I will never forget that. Lyn had time for everyone. Children, teenages, adults .. She always talked and as you know, she did alot she didn't even know she had done,. By taking time to talk with those around her and helping others. My heart really goes out to you all. xx. Rest In Paradise Lyn xx

Dedicated to Senior Sergeant Lynley Fleming: from the Nursing Class of 1980, Greymouth Hospital.
We trained and worked with Lynley. She has been our dear friend for 45 years. As well as being an exceptional police officer, she was an outstanding, compassionate and professional Registered Nurse. Lynley touched the hearts and lives of so many. She was always the best of the best. We miss you dear friend.
