Leonie TINDALE Obituary

Passed away peacefully at her home, Oakwoods, Richmond, on June 17, 2025, aged 92. Much loved mum and mother-in-law of Jenny Tindale (Greymouth), Linda and Kevin Waters (Palmerston North), Donna and John Lyons (Rarangi) Jacqueline Hardy (Richmond), and Lucy Tindale and Kevin Beams (Motueka), loved nana of Rodney, Shelley, Trent, Jay, Joni, Amy, Shannon, and Billy, loved great-nana of Imogen, Dana, Aran, Sam, Anna, and Lilly, loved daughter of the late Walter and Marion Neame, loved sister of the late Terence, Gerald, Nora, Patrick, Mannix, and Bernard Neame, and a loved aunty, cousin and friend. Messages to 13a Florence Street, Richmond 7020. A Memorial Service for Leonie will be held in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Tainui Street, Greymouth, on Monday at 11.00am, Leonie's ashes will then be interred with her parents at the Karoro Lawn Cemetery. Sorry we can´t be there on Monday to show our respects for Leonie. Our condolences and deepest sympathies to all of her family and whilst we were planning to come to the service we unfortunately are unable as David is in Ashburton hospital. David and Elspeth have fond memories of her trips to Ashburton for market days with Irene followed by visits to the farm. She will be missed by all those who were fortunate to have benefitted from her hospitality. With love from David and Elspeth, Jan and Marcus, Phil and Merryn, Sue and Brian.

Our deepest sympathy to Leonie's family. She was very kind to us when we lived at Taramakau Settlement. She was a fantastic worker and would come out at 5 am to babysit George and Olivia whenever we had a herd test. Sorry we are unable to make her funeral but we will forever treasure the kindness she showed us.
