Lenore McLAREN Obituary

On Friday, September 12, 2025, after a courageous fight with cancer, Mary passed peacefully at Ernest Rutherford Hospital Care Unit, aged 91 years, comforted by her daughters. Mary was the much-respected florist and owner of Guthrie and Mace, where she shared her love of flowers with the Nile Street community for many years, before venturing into Aquaculture. Much loved mother of Jane, Sue, and Bruce, and mother-in-law to Lindsay Stuart, Jodie Scott, and Kylie McLaren. Adored Nana of Hayden, Danielle, and Zac McLaren, and Emma, and Sophie Stuart, along with their partners Luke Bayne, and Kate Ingham. Treasured sister of Julie (dec), Sir John, and Elizabeth, and sister-in-law of Doug Guthrie (dec), Lady Margaret Mace, and Trevor King. Aunty to Robson (dec), Peter, and Richard Guthrie, Angus, and Sarah Mace. Special thanks to all the nurses and caregivers at Ernest Rutherford Hospital and Nelson Hospice for their excellent care, attention and support for Mary and her family.
