My condolences Fay and to the family. We were very saddened to hear that Kerry has passed away. He was a wonderful person and so helpful to us when we were at the coast. I always loved his big voice in the morning, when he would put his head through the door and say "I need a crew who is coming". A very excited Paul and children would be gone in a second.

Dear Faye and family, I'm sad to hear of Kerry's passing. I still remember the time we spent in his company during the time I spent as a Helicopter Pilot living in Boneheads house on the beach at Mussel Point. Please pass on my deepest sympathy to your family. It was shortly after viewing him and his family history on YouTube that I heard the news of his passing. My Thoughts are with you all. Keith Neylon

The big Egg was a champion for his fellow fisherman, and the Haast community. Always positive, generous, great sense of humour, and a source of many enduring memories of adventures and fun. A great Totara has fallen but the memories and lives that he enhanced carry on his legacy. Egg passing will leave a hole no one else can fill, so Fiona and I join the crowd of family and friends grieving him at this time.

The Big Egg will live on in the echoes of the mighty river valley's, the bush land of the Haast and the memories all those who have had the good fortune to know him. May your soul fly forever on the wings of the albatross and the cool easterly breezes, old friend.

Dear Faye and Boys,
We can´t begin to imagine life without KJ in it-so I truly don´t know how you will either. He was such a larger-than-life presence. He has been part of our world-through laughter, stories, shared memories, and just the kind of friendship that becomes part of who you are. KJ had a way of filling a room and of bringing a certain joy that was uniquely his. He was sharp, loyal, funny, stubborn in the best way, and he loved you all so fiercely-you were everything to him.
There´s a huge space left behind now. RIP Big Egg
