I was totally surprised to hear of Jon's death - he was far too young ! I will miss our annual emails on his birthday.
Deepest sympathies to his siblings and family.

To Fan Hui, Alice and Jodi, Jon was such a wonderful man and it was a joy to have both Fan Hui and Jon as our neighbour, even though it was such a short time. We lost not one, but two neighbours, as Fan makes her way back to China. I hope both may find peace in the journeys that they are on. Sleep with the angles Jon, till we meet again.

To the Shearer family, I am deeply saddened by the news of Jonathan's passing. You might only remember me as a young boy, but my mother was Jean Hymers, who was very fond of you all. Time passes so quickly.
I send you all my love and hope the pain of your your loss eases soon. Xx

Jon
As a schoolmate from Waimea College days, I remember Jon towering above us all. He had great ideas, a true sense of humour and was liked by all. A sad loss. Rest in Peace.

Thanks Jon, You were a founding member and first chairman of the Nelson 4 Wheel Drive Club. It was the foresight of you and the other founders that gave us the club we have today, which still runs on the values you set it up on. Here we are 43 years later and still going strong. Thanks mate.
