John HELLYER Obituary
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Nelson Tasman Hospice after a courageous battle with Motor Neurone disease, aged 52. Devoted, loved partner and best friend of Mel. Dearly loved son of the late Murray and Diana. Much loved little brother and brother-in-law of Lynda and Barry, Jennifer and Gary. Wonderful Uncle and Great-Uncle of Andrew, Bradley and Nathan, Casey, Hamish and Alicia, and their families. A huge thank you to all of the amazing team at Hospice, John's Access Carers, DHB Support team and our supportive friends. It is John's wish that in lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to Nelson Hospice in his memory and can be made at the service. A celebration of John's life will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 2.00pm, at Gardens of the World, Clover Road East, Hope. Please send messages to c/- 41 Nile Street East, Nelson 7010.

I'm very saddened to read this, I spent a lot of time with John in our early years at their family home in Brightwater. John and I would cruise around in our cars without causing too much havoc. RIP mate

John, I will always remember your mischevious face when we were all young teens, sneaking around outside Jens bedroom when we talked about boys..you'd bang on the door and run off and laugh your head off as we chased you. Passed away on November 17, 2022. It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to "our Townie" who fought the unwinnable battle of Motor Neurone Disease with courage and determination over the past five years.
John will always be loved
